The sacred mountain dominates the upper portion of the composition, its symmetrical cone rendered in gradients of indigo at the base transitioning to a pure white snow cap. In the foreground, farmers bend among the harvest-ready rice fields, their conical straw hats forming rhythmic patterns. A line of dark pine trees creates a strong horizontal band across the middle ground. Two red-crowned cranes take flight from a shallow marsh, their wings outstretched. The sky is printed in a distinctive graduated blue wash called bokashi, deepening from pale near the mountain to rich Prussian blue at the top edge.
